There are 2 (TWO) ways to view the Events listings.
The 2017 annual meeting was held at Steve and Mary Brawn's place in Millbury, MA. We had 11 members in attendance, which included five board members, the club president, club clerk, and two membership/newsletter coordinators. Yes that's right, we have two new newsletter volunteers: Mary Brawn and Dale Ward. We are making great headway in sorting out our membership database and trying to get regular electronic newsletters out to the membership this year. We also have a new board of director member, Eric Iott from CT.
MEMBERSHIP NEWS: LiMBO annual dues are still just $10/year. This can be paid via paypal or check (send it to Mary Brawn if you are renewing by check). Everyone's membership is due on April 1st, 2017. I just sent my $10 in using paypal, I encourage all who want to be LiMBO members to do the same. We currently have an active database of 300 members. We also have about 1000 members on our webpage and over 1000 members on the LiMBO facebook page. With that many people we should be able to sustain this club for a few years.
MONEY MATTERS (IMPORTANT): The biggest expense for the club these days is the cost of having a website and a webmaster. In 2016 we spent $1373 on this item. This is down slightly from 2015 ($1412). Having a club facebook page, in comparison, costs nothing. Membership is also free on facebook. In order to keep the club website going we need to continue to generate revenue from the $10 membership fee. I will personally be making an appeal to our facebook members to consider formally joining LiMBO and helping support the cause. We also want to thank everyone who has recently joined the club or renewed their memberships, especially the long-time members that have been with us since the early days. We are making a great effort to improve our membership tracking and payment verification to avoid confusion about who is and isn't a member. And hopefully we will all see a few electronic newsletters this year.
|LIMBO GEAR: The LiMBO-mart has some new items this year, including a very sharp looking red hat with the club logo. We also have a canvas tote bag, nylon gear bag, and coozies. Contact Coy Bethune if you would like some new LiMBO swag.
EVENTS: Many LiMBO sponsored events will be happening this year, as usual. I will be producing a 2017 event list that we will post here on the website in the next few weeks. If you have an event to list please contact me (Stan Wohlfarth, at firstname.lastname@example.org) ASAP. Due to financial considerations, LiMBO will no longer be providing event sponsorship money. This is something we had done previously in an effort to help grow more events. Most events are now self-sustaining, with dedicated volunteers to keep them going.
We hope to see many of you out at various camp-outs, car shows or other gatherings this season. LiMBO is still alive and we hope that more contributions to the website and electronic newsletter can come from you, our members. It is our club, all of us, so please help us keep it going for many more years to come.
