Places we've enjoyed in Vermont are the following<br><br>Shelburne Museum; Shelburne, VT<br><br>Located in scenic Lake Champlain valley. Over 150,000 works are exhibited in a remarkable setting of 39 exhibition buildings, 25 of which are historic and were relocated to the Museum grounds. These include houses, barns, a meeting house, a one-room schoolhouse, a lighthouse, a jail, a general store, a covered bridge, and the 220-foot steamboat Ticonderoga.<br><br>Impressionist paintings, folk art, quilts and textiles, decorative arts, furniture, American paintings, decoys, carriages, and 17th-to 20th-century artifacts. <br>http://www.shelburnemuseum.org<br><br><br>Ben & Jerry's; North Waterford, VT <br><br>Yes, this ice cream is really made in a beautiful spot in Vermont.  An OK tour, free sample and quirky colorful outdoor items, like cow cut-out that you can insert your face and get a photo opp. Worth a visit<br>www.benjerry.com<br><br><br>UVM Morgan Horse Farm: Middlebury, VT<br><br>Visiting hours are 9:00-4:00 daily, from May 1-October 31. Tours are available on the hour. The farm's gift shop offers hundreds of horse related gift items. Each Saturday in June, from 11am-2pm, staff will be on hand to introduce you to some of our colts and fillies and to teach children and adults about the first year of a Morgan's life. <br><br>Little did I know when we first visited this place, that "we" (read female contingent of family) would own a Morgan someday.<br>www.uvm.edu/morgan<br><br>Montshire Museum of Science:  Norwich, VT <br>Great ands-on museum located on a 110-acre site near the Connecticut River. , two-acre exhibit area in a beautiful, park-like setting. Also outside is a network of easy-to-moderate walking trails for visitors of all ages and fitness levels.  While aimed at kids (of all age), I think all would like this place - a favorite of ours! ageswww.montshire.org<br><br><br><br><br><br>

Joan and I live in Vt., but we also love to camp here as well. Ricker Pond State park in Groton State forest is one of our favorites. It is one of the smaller parks on a beautiful pond. As with all the Vt. State parks, it is well managed. We like it as a weekend get away. It is next to an old railroad bed which is converted for biking recreation. You can ride through the woods for miles with only moderate hills.  Here is the link:

Underhill State forest is another great spot. The campground is located on the lower west side of Mount Mansfield. There are fantastic hikes from there. Biking is a challenge because of the steep hills. It is about 45 minutes from Burlington, so a day trip to a host of restaurants, and entertainment is available. Here is the link:
