Propane & battery questions
« on: July 17, 2006, 02:14:01 PM »
Does anyone know if it's possible to somehow hook up a regular 20lb propane tank to the Westy gas system? Last time I had it filled, the person filling the tank told me I could probably get an adaptor, but didn't really know.

The second question involves the "mode" switch on the fridge: is it replaceable? My fridge only seems to want to work on 12VDC. When plugged into house 110VAC it doesn't seem to work, eventhough all the knobs and switches are on the proper settings.

Any help is appreciated.
No one's ever tried to adapt a 20lb tank to a Westy?

yes you can, first thing thou is to go to a gas supply house for the ACME thread filler . then you can adappt to the tank ,the only big problem is that there will be no liquid propane for the long time use.the OEM tank can last more than 4 days using the fridge and stove .

I saw an adapter sold by rv stores where you can hook a regular propane tank up to your westy propane tank system to provide extra propane or to run an external gas grill. The kit was @ $50.00.
