Z-bed retrofit
« on: June 22, 2006, 08:14:49 PM »
I have an '84 7-pass GL. I swapped my rear bench for a Weekender Z-bed. Why don't the rear seatback latch pins line up with the seat? The original short seatback pins were replaced with the correct longer pins. I bolted in the bottom Z-bed mechanism/ seat assy fine, but the upper seatback sits about 4 inches too far forward to catch! What's going on here? There's no other way to mount the pieces! ???

Thanks for the help! Mike

Mike, I think the weekender rear bed sits farther forward than the seat on the standard passenger van.

I have a weekender and a friend has a passenger van, with the standard fold down rear seat. I'll try to compare the two, but I can't do it this weekend.

Let me be sure, when you say weekended Z-bed, are you talking about a pop-top weekender with the storage under the rear seat, or a just a folding late model seat?

John
