power steering pressure switch

Help,im having the intermittent running problems so common with the late model vanagons,ie,van runs great but after a few miles it starts to miss and lose power.If you turn the key off and then restart it ,it runs great again only to start the cycle all over again. We have tried most of the usual things to no avail,we are wondering if the power steering pressure switch could be the problem as we blew a line so disconected the pump around the same time the running problem started.<br>Steve.
