Gas getting into oil
« on: August 02, 2005, 08:28:36 AM »
Have the chance to purchase a 73 westy with 98K original miles!
It does not run at the moment because the owner says there was oil getting into the oil pan and diluting the oil. Any ides as to what this is and if it's fatal? An engine rebuild wouldn't be a bad thing to me, but I'd hope I wouldn't have to yet.

Thanks,
Dave

I had this problem with my 72 Westy.
Adjust the float/s in the carb/s and I bet it goes away.
