We bought a '78 bus, while driving it home. After about 100 miles it was getting dark so we turned on the lights. Within 10 minutes the bus started to lose power and started to smoke. We pulled over and ended up having to leave the bus. We contacted a local mechanic who check the alternator, he said it was putting out the correct voltage. After finally getting it home, by transport, we crawled under the engine compartment and found a doughnut shaped magnet that had been broken in two pieces. We have not been able to find where it goes.
Any Help
If magnet does not have anything to do with the problems, any suggestion
