TDI Vanagon Conversion
« on: October 23, 2005, 11:18:30 AM »
Is there anybody out there who has done a 1.9 TDI conversion on their 2.1 vanagon who would be kind enough to talk with me about the costs, problems and realities of this job? Thanks.

I did a google search for "TDI Vanagon" and got to Michael Sullivan's home page. He did the conversion in his yellow '87 Syncro Westy.
I photographed the Westy several years ago for a VW Trends feature (March '99). That was before he did the TDI swap.
Here's the web page:
http://www.haywood-sullivan.com/vanagon/TDI/

He's nice guy and I believe he still lives in Quincy, MA.

-Stan
