Anyone have experience with auto tranny in Vanagon or Bay window bus's?
Guy trying to sell me one says they're "bulletproof" and "faster than a stick". Can anyone verify or give an opinion based on actual experience? Thanks, Stickman

The Vanagon automatics are pretty stout units. Boston Bob (www.bostonengine.com) has had several over the years and they are usually good drivers. He still has two now that his wife and kids drive regularly.

They can be quick on acceleration or "dogs", depending on condition.
