charging problems on westy
« on: September 16, 2005, 10:46:23 AM »
having some charging problems with my westy syncro.  i have not done any diagnostic work yet, but for some reason it is not charging my front battery.   how is power divided between front and rear?  is this a potential problem? (new batteries and new alternator, old alternator kaput.)  anything to narrow the search would be a help, the syncro is a bear to push and bump.  thanks

Take a look at the voltage regulator on the alternator.  The brushes may by worn or the hole regulator is shot. See Bentley Manual section 27.20. Ease to replace.<br>Nevin Lescher
