"Vanagon miss" or " Vanagon syndro

Most of you probably know this, but if not: Vanagons with the Digifant EFI were prone to an infuriating intermittent miss or hesitation. The first couple of years I had my 86, I had ground wires replaced & many other things tried, until I (not several dealers...) found a VW tech bulletin advising of a kit to fix it. Got a new Mass Air Flow Sensor($$$) and the kit. Fixed...for a while. It came back. I found a common-sense fix.  I replaced terminals (crimped and soldered), cleaned every ground wire connection, protected w/ silicone grease, and - important - completely replaced the thin ground wire to the computer under rear seat with nice hefty Monster-cable type copper wire, and added an extra ground from block to MAFS. It never missed the next twelve years! Try this first if you have any electrical problems.
