June 15 (Sun) Harwinton, CT - Litchfield Bug In. All VW car show and swap meet to be held at the Harwinton Fairgrounds, 150 Locust Road, Harwinton , Connecticut from 9am to 3pm. Car show with 40 classes of VWs to enter, both aircooled and watercooled. Over 100 awards given out plus many best of awards. Show registration ends at noon. Awards given out at 3:30. Swap meet with over 100 vendors and swappers selling both new and used parts. Indoor spaces are available for vendors. Up front vendors can set up Saturday afternoon. Free food Sat night at 6:30 at the annual Bug in Bash held at the fairgrounds. Vendor gates open at 7am Sunday morning. Clean restrooms with attendants. Camping at fairgrounds for $15 a vehicle. A bunch of Beetles, Buses as well as Things, Ghias, and Rabbits will come together as GROOVE (General Registry of Ozarks Volkswagen Enthusiasts) sponsors its 20th annual event. Located on the grounds of Hood’s Service Center and Motel, 1651 St Hwy K, located off Interstate 44 at exit 61 on Greene County State Road K, close to Historic Route 66 (MO-266). Admission is free. Entries to competitions, camping, car corral, and car show require nominal registration fees. May 17 (Sat) Charlotte, NC – Charlotte Transporter Show 11. This year will be in a new location, very convenient to I-85. The setting will be similar to the last couple of years, only with better food availability and less loud music! The event will be paired with a vintage bicycle show (also same as previous years), so throw your classic bike in your bus and come on out and enjoy both shows! Location: Thomas T. Sandifer House, 12601 Moores Chapel Rd, Charlotte, NC 28214. Gates open at 8am, $5 to show, includes swap if you are in an Aircooled Type 2. $20 to swap if you are not in an Aircooled Type 2. As usual, the show will be preceded by an open house/shop party at Monkey Nut on Friday and followed by a caravan and campout at Farmington Dragway in nearby Mocksville, NC for the SEVWA’s Fast Times Farmington #21 all VW show, swap and drag racing.
