Aug. 29-Sept. 1 (Fri-Mon) Mark Twain Lake, MS - Buses Nowhere Near The Arch #29. Any era and all models of VW's are welcome to enjoy this BNNTA family-oriented VW camping event during the long Labor Day holiday weekend. Featuring VW-only camping on a 22 mile long lake, an informal VW Bus show, a fun and highly competitive best individual and best group campsite decoration contest, a scenic countryside caravan on Saturday to discover the sights of historic Hannibal, MO. Our campground is lakeside, so bring your watertoys (canoes, kayaks, etc.). BNNTA is held in a beautiful Corp of Engineers built/managed campground with very nice facilities, clean bathrooms and nice shower facilities, a playground and a huge pavilion for our sole use. The "total" event/camping fee for each VW for the entire four day weekend is only $30. Yep! A total of only $30! And that includes your event dash plaque too. If you have something VW related that you want to donate to the door prize pile, please bring it along and we'll give it away. There will be event t-shirts, etc. available. Aug 21-24 (Thur-Sun) Jim Thorpe, PA - Mauch Chunk Lake Park campout. Shady camping under the trees. Water spigot available in the group area. Flush toilets and showers nearby. Pot luck dinner Sat. night in the adjacent pavilion. Kids activities on Friday. Lake with boat access (launch permit required- electric motor only), rental canoes, kayaks and row boats available, fishing (PA license required 16 and older), Sandy beach with lifeguards, snack bar, biking and hiking trails. Minutes from historic Jim Thorpe, PA...ride the train, whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River Gorge, bike or hike the rail trail through the Gorge, Old Jail tour, Mansion tour, coal mines tour and more!!! Aug 10 (Sun) Antioch, CA – Nor-Cal Bus Fest 10 Nor-Cal Bus Fest 10! Contra Costa County Fairgrounds, 1201 West 10th St, Antioch, CA 94509 (use main entrance) Gates open at 8:00 am for this display and swap event which is open to ALL Volkswagen buses and trucks, regardless of year, model or condition. Held on the tree shaded lawns of the fairgrounds front park area, this event will showcase the full range of Type II's, from barndoors to Eurovans. Features include kids area, huge swap meet and days end raffle. General admission is still only $10 per adult, which includes entry, display and/or swap space. Kids under 10 are admitted free. Aug 10 (Sun) Terryville, CT - Terryville Bug-A-Fair. All VW car show and swap meet to be held at the Terryville Lions Club from 9am to 3pm. Car show with multiple classes of VWs to enter, both aircooled and watercooled. Show registration ends at noon. Awards given out at 3:30. Vendor gates open at 7am Sunday morning. Clean restrooms with attendants. Camping at fairgrounds for $15 a vehicle. Vendor spots at $30. Spots are approx 20 x 20 feet in size. Up front vendors at $45. Spectators-$9 for adults, kids free.
