Gimme a shout if you are in the area, WIlmington is right down the road from my work. we can get a roast beef at Simards!!!
Im trying to get the bus up to par for West River in VT  . so tomorrow Im taking a trip to Johns Car Corner to get some stuff for the bus.I was there a few days ago and saw alot of goodies. so i gotta grab a mufflah, tires, seatbelt(rear) and whatever else it takes to max out the credit card hehe..JOe

Its gonna be a fast trip if at all.  What it is is my wifes brother is having the second annual family gathering at his place in Wilmington, off 38 near woburn line.  We usually stay at her sisters house in Westford near 4/225.  No VolksVair for me but maybe Ken (PaintedBus) will be at that one.

IF my daughter can get Friday off from her job we would leave VB Thursday midnight, 12-14 hour trip.  I would have to be back at work 0600 Monday.

SO r u still trying to sell?  Come to the party, I think my brother in law with the Beatle and the Thing could be looking...

Howdy Joe,  is your bus on the road???

Might be in MA (Westford/ Wilmington) first weekend in August if all goes well.

I posted a note on the Facebook/FMBC page to tell everyone to come over to Limbo.

Volksvair is 8/7, same place but we are not bringing a car this year.

Modifications and Alterations / Bell housing for a 228 flywheel
« on: October 21, 2009, 01:16:39 PM »
Has anyone here ever modified an older bellhousing for use with a 228 flywheel?  I know it will bolt up but the clearence is too tight and you get that scraping noise.  Just wondering if anyone has removed any metal to fit with what kind of results.

Your right!  But I admit until I really had a problem  that required me to wrap my head around it and understand the system I was pretty mystefied by FI.

A couple times now Ive rescued folks by repairing the wire to the temp sensor or reminding them the fuel pump wont work if the AFM is off, etc.

Mr Limbo, nice to see you in Shrewsbury, heres a pic of you

Im so sorry to read that, its a real anamoly but I agree that small campouts often have their clique groups.

Thats why everybus is so fun, ITS BIG, 175 buses in 2006.

Ken is a cool guy, I met him at the bus depot campout last year.  He has a beautiful family too.

Dude, you got all the symptoms of a bad Head temp sensor.  Maybe the wire is just broken, if so the motor will run way too rich.  Normal resistance of the sensor is 200-400 ohms at operating temperature.

owned? dont have it anymore?

Yeah Joe, its been gone almost a year.  I was out of work at the time and I put up a couple cars for sale, it was the first to go.  A man and his son from Richmond got it.

I still have 2 incomplete vair motors in the garage, sold my tranny and motor mounts to Dr Evil like 2 years ago.  Its a lot more expensive than buses, most parts you have to get from clarks, etc.  Around my town there are plenty of buses to salvage.  I got 2 bus motors and lots of spares to support my 3 bus habit.

The bus in Beverly is in tough shape.  Its been cared for, which is to say the rot is evenly spread out.  But the tent is worn and the motor smokes.  If someone out there wants to do a conversion It would be a good donor but its gonna take a lot of work.

Obviously the distance is not going to allow me to move on it, but I told the seller that if he had to get rid of it I would ask my sister-in-law if she would put it in their barn temporarily.  It could be driven to Westford- or maybe even Athol, which is close to Clarks Corvair parts.

Mike Hill says he bought all his Transporters from out west, he doesnt do bodywork or rust repair.  Hes a software engineer. His builder is a guy named Bill.

Well, Im still on vacation, on standby at the AFB. Ill check back when I can.

P

ps 'Everybus' is Columbus day weekend, make your plans now!
