About two weeks ago in a haste to get back to some festivities after the holiday weekend I (ugh I cant believe Im saying this) retracted my buses awning while it was wet...

(As you all smack your faces at the rookie and the ever so dumb move)

You already guessed that today as I deployed the 10X10 awning, it was covered in mildew. I used some simple green to spot treat, and gave it a nice scrubbing with a pole brush, followed with a nice rinse, towel dried and allowed to really dry out in the sun. But Im worried that these spots will now be more prone to becoming infected with the green invader. Is there somthing out there I can do to keep the mildew from returning or to seal the vinyl so it doesnt do this again?

There's wealth of info on the Internet on mildew removal and prevention. A Google search will bring up just about everything that's been tried and not tried. Here's just a sample of what's available. Good Luck.

I suggest a very mild solution of bleach and water. Also, sun. Yes, sunshine. The rays of the sun are powerful and can kill mildew. A combo of both is sure to have an effect.
