Many years ago I purchased upholstery for my '81 Vanagon from Sewfine. Installation was easy and it has held up very well.

From what they told me, they used my old front seat covers to make patterns for Vanagons. The rear seat material was just provided in a roll and I had a local upholstery shop do the install. But doing the front seats was pretty easy as I mentioned above.

Sew Fine makes the best seat covers I have ever seen. They fit perfectly.
You do need to put them in the sun to soften up the vinyl to stretch over the padding. Get some new wire if you cannot use the old one from the old seat covers. 19 or 20 guage works fine.  :D
