looking for a referral in southern or central New Hampshire for a dependable & trustworthy shop--preferably a limbo member or kindred spirit specialist.. a resto project 91 westy 79k miles...in great shape but stored 4yrs ago in barn due to coolant leak......coolant issues, brake lines, rotors etc...mechanical only..
-
ive decided to send it to john in westminster even though its 98 miles away my AAA covers up to 100 miles and from my past experience w/ him hes honest and knows his stuff
-
Yes I heard that about John in Westminster VT too... but did not try due to distance..Im in NH too...with an 85 that needs push rod tubes replaced..
So I too would like to know anyone more local...

i tell ya man it was 110 miles one way, but i dont regret it for 1 minute Mike & lisa & their sons are kindred spirits and really do it for the love....I hadnt been there in over 12 years and it was like going home...they have a mexican 1992 panel van there thats really cool. and plenty of parts vans & boy they are down to earth, not like some of these euro auto places on the seacoast that just want to rape you for the BIG SCORE
-
just an update i went to johns in vt this weekend to drop off some parts and what my local euro auto shop told me was a head problem w/ a 1300.00 estimate..was in fact only the thermostat leaking coolant!! so now i can fix the canvas and get that SA grill..THANKS JOHN/MIKE/LISA

Yup another good referral for Johns. Guess it would be worth the trip...
And to get that SA grill...I want that for the Syncro and some good fog lights :)
hehe

BTW After West River Westies I went to John's and had my windshield replaced. He did a fine job and at a good price. I was off and on my way after a short while.
